Mahabalipuram is situated on the shores of Bay of Bengal, Chennai,Tamilnadu,India where a series of monolithic rock carved temples popularly known as Shore Temples were carved out under the Pallava Dynasty during 7 th century. The group of monuments at Mahabalipuram has been classified under UNESCO’s World heritage site. This small Ratha was carved out of a huge stone in situ.
